Chris A. Larson, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Garden Grove, California. He has been in practice for many years and had been using traditional radiography procedures and techniques. After carefully evaluating the options, he chose Carestream’s CS9300 cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) system. It has features that he finds helpful in diagnosing and treating his patients as he explains in this video.
“It has the ability to take multiple fields of view. Because I am an oral surgeon, sometimes I want to be able to visualize the entire skull. The second very important feature I felt with the CS9300 is it has the ability to take both two-dimensional and three-dimensional images.”
He appreciates being able to better care for his patients much more effectively. Additionally, his patients are impressed with the amount of detail and clarity of the imaging thus increasing their confidence in utilizing the higher technology for their oral health care.
• Evaluate and choose a radiography system that fits your needs.
• Cone-beam technology is safer since it uses less radiation.
• The image variability in terms of number of images and type between 2-D and 3-D allows for one system imaging.
• Quality of care is improved with better technology.
