Dentists seeking incentives from meaningful use will be participating through the Medicaid portion of the program. Dentists are eligible if they have at least 30% Medicaid patients.
There’s been a lot of buzz about the sequestration affecting meaningful use payments. Medicare meaningful use incentives will be affected by a 2% reduction due to the sequester (after April 1).
However, dentists planning on or working towards meaningful use attestation are in the clear. Medicaid is not affected. For that reason, dentists planning on qualifying for meaningful use can move ahead with their plans.
