QSI offers several kinds of digital radiography. PSP or Phosophor Plate radiography requires scanning of images into digital data. PSP is typically easier for patients and is similar to film radiography for workflow and equipment, in addition to having a reduced initial cost. Charged coupled device (CCD) or Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductors (CMOS) capture digital images and can be either wireless or connected by a wire. CCD and CMOS are much faster for trained staff and images are instantaneous, allowing for rapid retakes if needed. They also have very low radiation and more potential adjustments to improve images. Extra-oral films like panoramic and cephlametric are available either in PSP or CCD options.
